The Electrician's Guide to the Building Regulations will ensure domestic installers not only comply with Part P, but also with other relevant parts of the Building Regulations, including Fire Safety, Ventilation and Conservation of Energy.
The 3rd Edition has been updated in line with the changes in Approved Document P which came into effect on 6 April 2013. It has also been fully updated to BS 7671:2008(2011).
The book is supported throughout by full colour illustrations, simple standardised circuits and a comprehensive index.
The spiral binding makes it practical to use and take out on site.
This book is designed as a course book for a range of EAL qualifications, including:
which have been developed to meet the new Qualified Supervisors technical competence requirements.
Domestic circuit schedules that comply with BS 7671:2008 Requirements for Electrical Installations (IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition) are described. They are not necessarily the most cost-effective for any particular installation, but have the advantage of being simple and generally applicable.
Approved Documents are intended to provide guidance for some of the more common building situations. However, there may well be alternative ways of achieving compliance with the requirements. Thus, there is no obligation to adopt any particular solution contained in an Approved Document if you prefer to meet the relevant requirement in some other way.
